The T-72B is a tier 6 Main Battle Tank originating from the Soviet Union, and is sold by Marat Shishkin. It can be unlocked from the T-72A, and leads to the T-90.

Features[edit | edit source]

  • Heavy armor: this vehicle's armor bounces more shots and takes more hits
  • High caliber: the high caliber weaponry deals an increased damage

Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]

The final progression variant of the T-72, the T-72B offers a massive increase in protection against ATGMs and HEAT shells. When upgraded, it is a well-armed and mobile brawling tank, capable of pushing a flank with ease. But with a mediocre stock top speed and acceleration and poor gun depression, this vehicle is harder to play compared to the T-80B, the other T6 Russian MBT.

Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]

Pros[edit | edit source]

  • High alpha
  • Excellent turret armor combined with acceptable hull armor
  • Good protection versus HEAT

Cons[edit | edit source]

  • Armor sometimes trolls you
  • Poor gun depression
  • Mediocre stock top speed and acceleration
  • Sometimes misses penetration power

Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]

Firepower upgrades such as ammunition and modules are important in the long run, but should not be focused early due to their high research cost relative to mobility upgrades.

Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Advanced Muzzle Reference System
  • Augmented Optics
  • Improved Gun Breech
  • Improved Pioneer Tool Kit

Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Commander: Juan Carlos, to improve the aim speed and crew stats
  • Driver: Spin to Win, Off-Road Driving
  • Gunner: Sharpshooter, Do the Twist

The T-72B expounds on the armor protection of the earlier vehicles with an improved and expanded BDD-style insert, along with additional armor plating on the glacis. This results in measurably better combat protection on the battlefield.

History[edit | edit source]

The most infamous late Cold War Soviet design, the T-72 is the poster child of eastern European firepower, and one of the most well-known and used tanks in the world today. Designed as a more cost-effective variant of the T-64, the T-72 began production in 1973, and upgraded variants are still under production. The T-72B was the last major upgrade of the T-72 platform under the Soviet Union, and included changes such as an improved main gun, electronics, and a more powerful engine. This served as the standard T-72 model until the T-72B3 replaced it in 2010. Serving in conflicts across the globe under the banner of over forty nations with over twenty-five thousand made, it is the tank which defined the Soviet army for almost half a century.
