The T-64A mod. 1969 is a tier 4 Main Battle Tank originating from the Soviet Union, and is sold by Marat Shishkin. It can be unlocked from the T-62, and leads to the T-64A mod. 1976 and T-80.

Features[edit | edit source]

  • Heavy armor: this vehicle's armor bounces more shots and takes more hits
  • High caliber: the high caliber weaponry deals an increased damage
  • Smoke Generators : generated a smoke screen around the vehicle

Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]

Featuring some of the best frontal turret armor within its tier, the T-64A mod. 1969 excels at firing from a hull down position. This comes with a caveat though: its poor gun depression does not allow for ridge poking, so it must rely on locations which do not need a player to expose their hull armor. With a much more powerful engine and transmission, the T-64A mod. 1969 has much higher mobility and can be an effective brawler if used correctly.

Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]

Pros[edit | edit source]

  • High alpha
  • Excellent turret armor
  • Good Mobility

Cons[edit | edit source]

  • Poor hull armor
  • Poor turret traverse
  • Mediocre gun depression

Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]

The 5DTFM Diesel Engine should be researched early, as it improves the vehicle’s mobility, making crossing open areas faster and pushing against a retreating enemy easier. The 2E28M2 Gun Stabilizer allows for much more accurate fire while on the move, and the Improved Autoloader will enhance the fire rate of the T-64A. Ammunition upgrades are also very important, as they will allow for more accurate and damaging fire against the enemy.

Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Advanced Muzzle Reference System
  • Augmented Optics
  • Improved Gun Breech
  • Improved Pioneer Tool Kit

Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Commander: Juan Carlos, to improve the aim speed and crew stats.
  • Driver: Spin to Win, Off-Road Driving
  • Gunner: Sharpshooter, Do the Twist

The Soviet Union’s attempt to create the most advanced tank of the time, the T-64A uses an early form of composite armor on the upper glacis, with composite inserts in the heavily armored steel turret front. This offers protection against HEAT shells.

History[edit | edit source]

The T-64A was the first production model of the T-64 which saw service with the Soviet Armed Forces. It served as the base model for updates to the T-64 platform for the next thirty years, until the Russian Ground Forces reorganization after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Currently, over half a dozen nations still use T-64 variants in their armed forces, with the largest user being Ukraine.
