History[edit | edit source]

Object 279 was an experimental Soviet heavy tank, manufactured in 1959. The tank was designed to fight on cross country terrain, inaccessible to conventional tanks, acting as a heavy breakthrough tank, and with the capability of withstanding the shockwave of a nuclear explosion. However, tests revealed many shortcomings and in 1960 the Soviet Union wrote off its entire heavy tank program.

Variants[edit | edit source]

  • Object 279 Banner Bearer : This variant fires red smoke instead of grey smoke, visual camo net (no camo bonus provided), and Soviet Victory Banner flag on its turret.
