The M1 Abrams is a tier 6 Main Battle Tank originating from the United States, and is sold by Sophie Wölfli. It can be unlocked from the M60A3, and leads to the M1A1 Abrams.

Features[edit | edit source]

  • Heavy armor : this vehicle's armor bounces more shots and takes more hits
  • HESH: can even penetrate armor with large hit angles
  • Gas Turbine : provide a smoother acceleration, compared to an ordinary diesel

Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]

Featuring a massive improvement in protection over the M60 series, the M1 Abrams is a fast moving, hard hitting, well protected fighter. With one of the fastest accelerations of an MBT in the game, and thick, well-sloped frontal armor, the M1 Abrams is a jack-of-all-trades, capable of flanking, brawling, and defending a position equally well. The only major downside to the M1 is its weak 105mm cannon relative to other tier 6 MBTs, but its good armor and excellent mobility make up for this.

Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]

Pros[edit | edit source]

  • Excellent gun depression
  • Well sloped and armored turret and upper plate
  • Excellent mobility

Cons[edit | edit source]

  • Firepower can seem mediocre compared to same tier MBTs

Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]

The M1 suffers from a lack of major upgrades, although it is still a strong tank regardless. After unlocking and purchasing the Improved Tracks, upgrades should be focused on improving the firepower of the vehicle, including better ammunition, the Improved Gunner Sight, and Improved Ready Racks.

Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Advanced Muzzle Reference System
  • Augmented Optics
  • Improved Gun Breech
  • Improved Pioneer Tool Kit

Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Commander: Juan Carlos, to improve the aim speed and crew stats.
  • Driver: Spin to Win, Off-Road Driving
  • Gunner: Sharpshooter, Do the Twist
  • Loader: Rapid Fire, Explosive Shells/Preparation

Like the Challenger 1, the original M1 was among the first to use high-end composites on the frontal arc of the vehicle, offering extensive protection against both HEAT and kinetic charges at the cost of weight, cost, and complexity. Although only intended for frontal assaults, it offers a solid blend of defense, power, and speed on the modern battlefield.

History[edit | edit source]

Created by the United States, the M1 Abrams was developed as the successor to the M60, offering improved speed and maneuverability as well as greater crew protection. Following the end of the MBT-70 project, the M1 Abrams entered development and production in the early 1970’s. With over 9,000 units produced, the vehicle serves as the primary MBT for various governments. With a long service record, the vehicle has faced combat in Western Asia and North Africa.
