Vehicle name is a tier 8 Main Battle Tank originating from Germany. It is sold by Wölfli. It is a Tier 8 Premium vehicle in the Wolfi Dealer's vehicle line. Leopard 2 Revolution is an upgraded version of progression sibling Leopard 2 Evolution by Rheinmetall that inherited the original IBD Deisenroth program with the Evolution itself being, as its name suggests, a modernization kit for the older Leopard 2A4. The most important upgrade is its armor – the Revolution is protected by a more advanced version of the AMAP-B armor kit and features slightly better stats than Evolution version, and features a soft kill APS system.

Player recommendations[edit | edit source]

Pros and cons[edit | edit source]

Leopard 2A4 Revolution is a MBT best played in MBT sniper role, although very well balanced and homogenius armor with solid hull values and good side protection, it still slightly lacks in frontal turret protection. Somewhat weaker frontal turret armor values are partually mitigated by Soft Kill APS system which will attack incoming missiles, but only if missile is fired from afar and with cooldown between protection shots. Superb penetration values combined with fast aim and solid spread but low camo rating advises not to be caught up close, as there is no need to charge, instead picking on enemies from afar penetrating any armor, at the same time being protected from missile fire by APS.

Pros[edit | edit source]

  • It has 360 degree smoke grenades
  • Soft Kill APS system offers protection from missiles
  • Very High penetration value compared to peers, able to penetrate any lvl 8 MBT frontal hull and turret armor except for frontal turrets of Merkava 3 Baz and Type 99
  • Reliable aim time, accuracy and spread
  • Good acceleration
  • Good frontal hull armor

Cons[edit | edit source]

  • Weak turret armor compared to lvl 8 peers, can be penetrated by any lvl8 MBT
  • Unimpressive cammo value
  • Turret traverse speed does not impress

History[edit | edit source]

The MBT Revolution is a modular upgrade package to the Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks. It was developed by Rheinmetall. This MBT was first revealed in 2010. It is also referred as Leopard 2A4 Evolution. The Leopard 2A4 was the most widespread version of the Leopard 2. It is still used by a number of countries in large numbers. So the market for upgrades remains substantial. Indonesia plans to obtain 61 Revolution MBTs.

The Revolution main battle tank is better suited for urban warfare and low-intensity conflicts. It is worth noting that original Leopard 2 tanks were developed during the Cold War and were intended for high intensity conflicts based on tank battles in open terrain. The tank has improved overall protection. It is fitted with new Advanced Modular Armor Protection (AMAP) composite armor package. It uses new nano-ceramics materials and modern titanium and steel alloys. This armor provides higher level of protection against wide range of threats. The AMAP armor can be done is different compositions and armor configuration depends on customer requirements. Various configurations do different jobs. Some are used for RPG attacks, the other are used for IED attacks. The tank is also fitted with a mine protection package. This MBT has a modular armor, so damaged modules can be easily replaced in field conditions. Tank is also fitted with new Rheinmetall ROSY smoke grenade dischargers. These set up a smoke screen within 0.6 seconds. Overall the Revolution MBT is less vulnerable to ambushes, RPG rounds, anti-tank missiles, improvised explosive devices and mines.
