Contents
Features[edit | edit source]
- Heavy armor : this vehicle's armor bounces more shots and takes more hits
- High caliber: the high caliber weaponry deals an increased damage.
Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]
A more heavily armored variant on the standard Leopard chassis, the Leopard 2A4 Evolution is designed for heavy combat. Well armored against HEAT, and AP, and especially ATGM threats, the Evolution is more than capable of facing heavy fire in a way few Leopard variants can. It also retains the typical Leopard speed, maneuverability, and accuracy, making it an excellent jack of all trades capable of spearheading, flanking, and long-range fighting.
Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]
Pros[edit | edit source]
- Excellent gun depression
- Accurate
- Excellent mobility for an MBT
- Strong hull armor
- ATGM Resistance (PVE)
Cons[edit | edit source]
- Large weakspot under the gun mantlet
- Mediocre turret armor
Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]
As the vehicle is defined by its firepower, early research should focus on this. Upgrading to the Improved Gun Stabilizer and Improved Ready Racks, along with better ammunition, will improve firepower while minimizing exposure to return fire. Another important upgrade early on would be the MTU Mt 883 Ka-500 Diesel Engine, which improves the mobility even further.
Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Advanced Muzzle Reference System
- Improved Telescopic Lens
- Improved Gun Breech
- Improved Pioneer Tool Kit
Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]
- Commander: Philipp Holzklau, to improve the aim speed and reload time.
- Driver: Spin to Win, Off-Road Driving
- Gunner: Sharpshooter, Quick Draw
- Loader: Rapid Fire, Secured Ammunition

The Leopard 2 Evolution AMAP modular appliqué package focuses on all-around protection against HEAT-based threats, better accounting for urban and lower threat engagements, as opposed to the standard doctrine of only frontal armor. |

The Leopard Evolution MBT is an upgrade of the Leopard 2A4 variant by IBD Deisenroth from 2007 to make the two decades old vehicle meet the requirements of modern battlefields. The most important part of the upgrade is the Advanced Modular Armor Protection Armor (AMAP), offering increased protection levels at a cost of 10 extra tons. The only customer of this upgrade kit to this day is Singapore with 94 thus upgraded tanks delivered between 2006 and 2009. A similar upgrade kit intended for other Leopard 2 variants, called Evolution II, was unveiled in 2012.
