The Leclerc Prototype is a Tier 7 progression Main Battle Tank under Francine De Laroche's dealership.

History

lass: Main Battle Tank (Prototype)
Developed: 1982-1986
Service: N/A
Vehicles Built: 1
Operators: N/A

This is one of the earliest Leclerc prototypes called MSC (Mulet Systéme Complet). It was based on a technology developed for the failed AMX-40 export MBT as a part of a program called EPC, which would in 1986 be renamed to Leclerc in honor of Philippe François Marie Leclerc de Hauteclocque, a famous Free French commander during the Second World War. This tank (effectively still a testbed) featured the early versions of many components that would later make it to the production version, such as the 120mm smoothbore gun by GIAT or the UNIDIESEL V8X engine. This vehicle appeared in several configurations between 1986 and 1989 and underwent numerous tests, which resulted in the construction of the first real Leclerc prototypes that were even more packed with modern electronics, resulting in the biggest difference between the Leclerc and other western MBTs – the use of digital technologies.

Vehicle Traits

  • Armored: This vehicle's armor can withstand a lot of punishment, allowing it to survive even serious firefights.
  • Heavy Weapon: This vehicle carries one of the largest weapons around with significantly increased damage per shot.
  • Improved Reverse: This vehicle can drive backwards much faster than other vehicles can.
  • Protected Modules: This vehicle's internal components take less damage, making them harder to destroy.
  • Designate Area: This vehicle features the ability to designate all visible vehicles within the range of 100 meters. Designated targets take increased damage.

This MBT's front is protected by composite armor. Composite armor consists of combined layers of steel and other material and offers excellent protection against HEAT shells and ATGMs. Its steel sides and rear are considerably more vulnerable. Additionally, you may customize the armor layout via upgrades.
