Features[edit | edit source]

  • Heavy armor : this vehicle's armor bounces more shots and takes more hits
  • High caliber : the high caliber weaponry deals an increased damage
  • HESH: can even penetrate armor with large hit angles

Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]

The Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank is one of the most armored vehicles in the game. Sporting excellent frontal protection from almost any threat, this vehicle is designed for spearheading an attack and pushing through fire which would devastate nearly any other vehicle in the game. While its gun is mediocre, its armor allows for it to push in close to enemies, and its large health pool allows it to absorb damage. While dangerous, it should be used in conjunction with other more mobile vehicles, as its slow mobility makes it vulnerable to flanking.

Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]

Pros[edit | edit source]

  • Excellent Armor
  • ERA armor upgrade provides excellent protection against ATGMs
  • Large health pool
  • HESH rounds are available

Cons[edit | edit source]

  • Mediocre firepower
  • Limited to only APFSDS and HESH
  • Poor mobility compared to same tier MBTs

Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]

Upgrading to the TES (H) ERA and Cage Package will boost protection against incoming threats, so they should be prioritized early on. The MT 883 Diesel Engine will heavily improve mobility, reducing susceptibility to flanking attacks. Upgrading to the Improved Gun Stabilizer and Improved Ready Racks is valuable, but due to their cost in reputation and credits should be saved until after the engine and armor have been upgraded.

Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Improved Gun Breech
  • Air Induction Precleaner
  • Improved Pioneer Tool Kit

Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Commander: Ioannis Sanna, for increasing accuracy, turret traverse, and aim time, as well as the Firestarter ability mixing well with the HESH rounds. NOTE: THE COMMANDER PATCH HAS BEEN RELEASED, SO THIS MAY NO LONGER BE VALID.
  • Driver: Off-Road Driving, Spin to Win
  • Gunner: Quick Draw, Sharpshooter
  • Loader: Rapid Fire, Explosive Shells

A direct upgrade to the survivability of the Challenger I, the frontal arc of the Challenger 2 utilizes an advanced composite, making it one of the best protected MBTs against both HEAT and kinetic penetration. This is traded at the cost of vehicle weight and maneuverability, and as the vehicle is only intended to take ranged attacks from the front, both the sides and rear remain much more vulnerable to enemy fire.

Spaced steel on the frontal sides of the hull and appliqué on the upper glacis is meshed with ERA on the hull sides, lower glacis and turret sides to offer several hundred millimeters of protection when detonated against ATGMs and HEAT rounds, with some added protection against kinetic penetrators. Cage armor on the turret rear offers further protection against ATGMs.
