The FV101 Scorpion is a tier 3 Light Tank originating from the United Kingdom, and is sold by Marat Shishkin. It can be unlocked from the FV107 Scimitar or T-55, and leads to the FV101 Scorpion 90.

Features[edit | edit source]

  • Invisible movement: motion does not reduce camouflage factor.
  • Designated target: vehicle has the ability to designate targets that are within line of sight and vision range. Designated targets are called out and takes increased damage.
  • HESH: can even penetrate armor with large hit angles.

Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]

The FV101 Scorpion is a light tank with mobility typical of the class. Using its speed and mobility, it can flank to unload into the sides and rears of slower vehicles. It is also an excellent counter for other flankers, as its high explosive wreaks havoc on lightly armored targets.

Pros and Cons[edit | edit source]

Pros[edit | edit source]

  • Fast and maneuverable
  • HE rounds can cause devastating damage to lightly armored targets.
  • Good camouflage and view range

Cons[edit | edit source]

  • Minimal effective armor
  • High Explosive rounds with inconsistent damage to armored enemies
  • Frontally mounted engine

Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]

Upgrading to the 76mm L24A2 HESH ammunition significantly boosts penetration, allowing for more effective fire against heavily armored targets. The Tb.3544 Diesel Engine significantly boosts agility, increasing overall vehicle mobility. Improved Ready Racks will allow for more sustained fire, making flanking and rear attacks more lethal.

Retrofit Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Advanced Muzzle Reference System
  • Advanced Fire Control
  • Augmented Optics
  • Improved Gun Breech

Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Commander: Sabrina Washington, for improvements to camo rating, view range, and accuracy
  • Driver: Smooth Ride, Off-Road Driving
  • Gunner: Sharpshooter, Quick Draw
  • Loader: Rapid Fire, Explosive Shells

History[edit | edit source]

This British-built armored reconnaissance vehicle was designed to be able to operate in a wide range of conditions ranging from dry and arid deserts all the way to boggy wetlands. Since 1972, approximately 3,000 FV101 units have been produced for the United Kingdom, as well as for governments all over the world. One item of note for the Scorpion is that it presently holds the world’s record for fastest production tank. The United Kingdom has since retired the vehicle, but it remains in active duty with other governments.
