The 2S1 Gvosdika is a tier 4 Self-Propelled Gun originating from the Soviet Union, and is sold by Zhang Feng. It can be unlocked from the M108, and leads to the M109.

Currently, all SPGs in the game are locked to PvE mode.

Features[edit | edit source]

  • Self propelled guns: fire support vehicles for PvE missions.
  • High caliber: the high caliber weaponry deals an increased damage.
  • Smoke generators : generate a smoke screen around the vehicle.
  • Waterproof: this vehicle can remain longer under water.

Player Recommendations[edit | edit source]

As a self-propelled gun, the 2S1 is best used as a support vehicle for helping the team progress by removing heavily armored targets such as MBTs from the battle. Teamwork is needed for those both working with and playing an SPG. Teammates should be asked to call out targets if they are in trouble, and front-line vehicles should be supported in the battle.

Pros[edit | edit source]

  • Relatively quick reload for a low tier SPG
  • High accuracy

Cons[edit | edit source]

  • Poor splash damage
  • Shell travel time is long
  • Slow turret traverse

Upgrade Suggestions[edit | edit source]

The Improved Fire Control system is a basically mandatory initial upgrade that makes aiming much more responsive. Upgrading to the SW-680T Diesel Engine is a good next step to increase mobility between firing locations.

Commander and Crew Skill Suggestions[edit | edit source]

  • Commander: Freja Hojbjerg, for improvements to aim speed and overall accuracy
  • Driver: Spin to Win, Off-Road Driving
  • Gunner: Sharpshooter, Quick Draw
  • Loader: Rapid Fire, Explosive Shells

History[edit | edit source]

Designed in 1969, the 2S1 Gvosdika is one of the most successful Soviet artillery designs in existence. Developed as a lightweight artillery platform similar to the M108, the Gvosdika was famous for its ability to operate across a variety of terrains and was fully amphibious. The production run of the Gvosdika ran from 1971 until 1991, and over thirty nations still operate fleets of the vehicle, including Finland, India, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine.
